Dr Challoner's has a large Sixth Form of over 400 students, predominantly due to the fact that the vast majority of Year 11s continue their education with the School.

In addition to these students the School also welcome around 40 new students, from a range of schools, who quickly settle in and readily form a single cohesive student body with those students who have continued into the Sixth Form from Year 11.

In order to accommodate this many students the School has recently completed a new and impressive Sixth Form Centre which features outstanding study facilities, the Milton Library and a branded Cafe.

The service times shall be agreed between the Contractor and the Client at the outset of the Contract; however, the minimum service opening times shall be 8:00 ? 14:00 during normal term time.

This opportunity is for companies to put forward proposals and pricing for a full commercial service to the Sixth Form; VAT will be on a total Principal Basis (input and output) i.e. Students pay 20 % VAT on all food and beverages consumed on site.

The contractor will be expected to make suitable investment into the business to ensure a high end (High Street Style) Coffee Bar service is maintained throughout the contract tenure; although the seating in the Cafe area is provided by the School.

The School also expects a fair financial return (rent) to cover other service and utility costs

The contract for the Main School Catering Service is being advertised as a totally separate contract and will be let as a separate lot.

However, bidding companies are welcome to tender for both service contracts; but as separate contracts.

Both lots will have a five year tenure (3 years with an option for the school to extend for a further 2 years).

Only companies who are genuinely interested and have the ability to provide the investment funding that will be required in this valuable long term commercial opportunity are asked to respond.

For the contractor to:

Offer to DCGS Sixth Form Students a first class, high end Coffee Bar Service which will encourage all Students to remain on site during the School day and enjoy a fully commercialised service which mirrors that normally seen in the major high street coffee bars.

Be able to fund the investment necessary to replace any equipment which would be removed by the current provider. In return the School is (subject to agreed break clauses and protection of the contractor's investment) offering a 5 year contract tenure.

Be able to effectively market and brand the service and service area so that the Students are attracted to a Destination Area and are able to be served quickly and efficiently.

Be able to service and maintain all the contractor owned equipment during the contract tenure as well as paying the proportionate amount for utility costs to the School and the cost of the annual License Fee.

Ensure that all statutory obligations such as Health and Safety, Food Hygiene EHO Scores and School Safeguarding procedures are strictly adhered to.

Effectively manage the cash income collection and VAT for the service, including debt management.

To enter into an agreement that rewards The Contractor for continual improvements in their financial and operational performance as well as passing on any financial benefits to the School over and above any agreed guarantees.
