Description of renewals:

The initial contract period will be ten (10) years, after which it can be extended on a year by year basis by a written notice, but not more than for five (5) additional years. The effective contract period shall thus be 10+5 years.

This Contract does not cause any commitment for the Customer to purchase the Equipment and related services.

Description of options:

The primary object of this procurement are the DWDM/transport and transponder equipment for the next generation Funet backbone network and related software and hardware support services, but the Customer reserves an option to purchase all related products from the vendor's product catalogue and compatible pluggable components (optical modules, additional cards etc.).

Moreover, should the Vendor have any other network equipment products in its portfolio that could be used to deploy the next generation Funet backbone network, the Customer reserves an option to include such products into the contract. Additional sites, nodes and related components may be purchased within this contract.
