Description

NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE:



FAR Authority permitting other than full and open competition for procurement of these services is 10. U.S.C. ยง2304 (c) (1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1(a)(2) (iii).



The Government intends to solicit only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability by responding to this solicitation by submitting an offer, however, a determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Any offers received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government intends to award to Schindler Elevator



DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENT:



Freight Elevator Modernization



NAICS Code: 333921 - Elevator and Moving Stairway Manufacturing



PSC: 3960- Freight Elevators



Elevator modernization consists of updating the supporting machinery and controls to provide safe and efficient transportation throughout the facility. Special consideration is also given to fire, life safety, and building codes throughout the process, as these codes are frequently updated. Work will include the update and modernize both freight elevators to 2018 code meeting ANSI A17.1, making compliant with new industry standards.



The current elevators on the MVN district are Schindler Elevators and are under a service contract with Schindler. The current software used in the elevator control units throughout the district is proprietary software from Schindler Elevator Corporation. Because of the proprietary software Schindler certified technicians are the only authorized technicians allowed to troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and test the control units for the elevators.
