Description

This notice announces the intent by the U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) in support of the US Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine (USARIEM) to procure e-Celsius Performance Capsules, Monitors, and Activators manufactured by BodyCap, USA. without competition as prescribed in FAR 5.102(a)(6) and 5.203(a).



The e-Celsius Performance Capsule is an ingestible capsule that, once activated, has the ability to communicate with the associated monitor for up to 20 days at sampling rates of either 15, 30, 60, 120, or 180 seconds. The e-Celsius Performance Capsule transfers data via Radio Frequency (RF) transmissions (433-434MHz) and can internally store up to 2000 data points.



Contractor Requirements:




  • Contractor shall be able to provide a monitor, activator, software, power supply, USB cable set, and performance capsules



Monitor Requirements:




  • Shall be multichannel and able to run seven monitors in parallel

  • Shall be able to simultaneously record, store, and present data points from three (3) performance capsules

  • Shall have storage capabilities of 80,000 data points per pill

  • Dimensions shall not exceed 120mm x 70mm x 15mm



Activator Requirements:




  • Shall be compatible with monitor and performance capsules

  • Shall be able to activate performance capsules



Performance Capsule Requirements:




  • Shall be a miniaturized ingestible electronic pill that wirelessly transmits a continuous measurement

  • Shall have a shelf life of up to one year

  • Shall not weight more than two (2) grams and shall not exceed 18mm x 9mm

  • Shall be accurate within 0.2 degrees Celsius with an operational range of 25-45 degrees Celsius

  • Shall be able to store up to 2,000 data points and operate for 20 days after activation

  • Shall be able to wirelessly transmit at 433MHz and have a communication rage of at least one meter



The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 334516 and FSC 6640.



This Special Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotes. Information received in response to this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether a competitive procurement is in the best interest of the Government.
