The Naval Medical Logistics Command (NMLC) intends to award a sole source contract under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 to Philips Healthcare, 22100 Bothell Everett Hwy, Bothell, WA, 98021-8431, for a maintenance contract for the Philips Healthcare ClearVue 550 Ultrasound and Philips Healthcare EPIQ5 Ultrasound equipment. The duration of the contract is anticipated for one (1), 12-month base year, followed by three (3), 12-month option periods of maintenance/service coverage.

This requirement is in support of ongoing research protocols at Naval Medical Research Unit San Antonio (NAMRU-SA), Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

Philips Healthcare is the only company that can provide the preventative maintenance due to proprietary equipment, technology, and software. Due to the sensitivity of the instruments and the Philips Healthcare guarantee that the service provided meets OEM specifications and the replacement parts are compatible with the software levels that the ultrasound units are currently, it is necessary that service be provided only through Philips Healthcare.
