Description:

RESD-PMDB 2017- 31
CHP KELLER PEAK TOWER REPLACEMENT
CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROLL
SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, CALIFORNIA.
The Firm shall provide professional architectural and engineering design services for the complete system design of telecommunication tower at the Keller Peak CHP site in San Bernardino County, California. The responsible party shall be an architect or engineer licensed to practice in the State of California (CA) and all work shall be performed under, and approved by, a licensed design professional. The services may include studies, program confirmation, geotechnical testing, surveying, master planning, schematic plans, preliminary plans, construction documents, cost estimates, bidding support, and construction support. The project design must implement Essential Services Buildings Seismic Safety Act of 1986 and applicable California Building Codes, which will be reviewed and approved by the Division of the State Architect. The project requires replacing the existing temporary tower constructed of three 60-ft wooden poles with a fully operational 120-ft telecommunications tower. The site is located in San Bernardino County. Additionally, scalable aerial surveys will be needed in the above mentioned county. The replacement tower shall be required to comply with current seismic and building codes. The work includes providing site analysis of the existing infrastructure, replacing existing tower with self-supporting steel tower, foundation and feedline bridge for the new tower, demolition of existing footings and foundation from a 60-ft fallen tower, along with road maintenance during construction. Since the facility includes not only the CHP telecommunications system, but telecommunications operations of other public agencies the contractor must implement a design which will not disrupt the present operations of the various users. Site located in a remote area which could make access difficult due to the location and seasonal weather conditions.
This is a multi-year project with construction costs at approximately $1,350,000.
