NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed bids will be received by Whatcom County Administrative Services Finance/Purchasing at their office on the fifth floor of the Whatcom County Courthouse, 311 Grand Avenue Suite 503, Bellingham WA 98225 for the following:

Way Station

UNTIL: 2:30 PM Tuesday, June 6 13, 2023 (Extended in Addendum #1)

At which time and place the bids will be publicly opened (live/virtual via GoToMeeting), and read aloud. All bidders and any other interested people are invited to be present at the live bid opening via GoToMeeting, as more completely described herein. Late submittals will not be considered.

Whatcom County Administrative Services Facilities Management is requesting bids for the Way Station Project, located in Bellingham, Washington. This project includes but is not limited to interior and limited exterior Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Fire Protection, and Electrical renovation and repair work and new building HVAC and Fire Protection Systems, associated sitework, and other scope as described in the bid documents.

Award will be made to the lowest qualified bidder. Whatcom County reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to waive any irregularities. Whatcom County affirms it will not discriminate against, or grant preferential treatment to any individual or group on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin in the operation of public employment, public education, or public contracting. Whatcom County encourages disadvantaged, minority and women owned firms to respond. As required by law, the E-Verify System may be required.

It is recommended that all bidders attend a pre-bid walk-through scheduled for Thursday, May 25, 2023. This walk-through must be coordinated and scheduled with Whatcom County Facilities Management. Special Requirements:
NOTICE OF SPECIAL BID PROVISION: The successful bidder must agree to accept payment due under a resulting contract with Whatcom County from a third-party designee pursuant to the terms and conditions of the contract. The successful bidder agrees that such third-party designee will be a party to the contract between the County and the successful bidder for the limited purpose of paying certain project costs up to $2,000,000. All bidders are advised to fully review the terms and conditions applicable to this requirement contained in the attached sample contract and the general conditions.
