VERNON TOWNSHIP MUNICIPAL UTILITY AUTHORITY NOTICE REQUEST FOR PROPOPSAL AND STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS PURPOSE- The intent of this Request for Proposal (RFP) and resulting contract is to obtain professional operational services to operate and maintain Vernon Township's sanitary sewer system. The term of the contract is for a period of three (3) years from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2020 with an option to cancel after one (1) year. Bidders responding to this RFP shall have the requisite experience and knowledgeable background and qualifications in the provision of the services described herein. The Vernon Township Municipal Utilities Authority (VTMUA) was created in May 2011 to serve the Township of Vernon that lies within the Wallkill River Watershed. The VTMUA serves the "Town Center" via a collection system and pumping station. The VTMUA infrastructure also includes the United Water Great Gorge Sanitary Sewer System that was acquired in 2012. The wastewater from this area is conveyed to the Sussex County Municipal Utilities Authority (SCUMA) Upper Wallkill Water Pollution Control Plant for treatment. The local sewage collection system discharges to a series of sanitary sewage pumping stations and force mains which convey the sewage from Vernon Township to the SCMUA's Wallkill Interceptor Sewer System, which conveys wastewater to the SCMUA Upper Wallkill Water Pollution Control Plant in Hardyston Township. VTMUA's system consists of approximately 46,000 feet of gravity sewer, 17,000 feet of force main and 3 Pumping Stations. There are also a total of five (5) lift stations which the Bidder will be asked to provide a Proposal for the maintenance of on the basis of an hourly rate. Maintenance and inspection of the lift stations is to be performed at the direction of the VTMUA. REGISTRATION Each Respondent can obtain a copy of the RFP by going to the Vernon Township Municipal Utility Authority website at www.vernonmua.com. You will be asked to register with the VTMUA when you extract a copy of the RFP. Registering entails providing the name of the company, its address, phone number, the name of a contact person who will be interfacing with the VTMUA, their address, their office and cell phone numbers, their fax, and e-mail address. The contact person is expected to be the focus of communications with the VTMUA during the RFP process. He or she is expected to attend the Pre-Proposal Submission Meeting discussed in Section 4.2, below, and to provide the VTMUA with a list of Respondent's representatives (a maximum of 4 individuals per Respondent) who will attend the tour discussed in Section 1.4 and the Pre-Proposal Meeting.
