Scope of Work
The University of New Mexico (UNM) requests written proposals from General Contractors to provide
construction services for the renovation of the Center for the Arts (#062) building located on the
University’s central campus. Work shall include, but not be limited to, expanding, updating, and
reconfiguring the building’s existing fire protection systems. The intent is to provide 100% coverage to all
required areas of the building to meet current International Building Code, International Fire Code, and
National Fire Protection Association Codes & Standards. This contractor shall be responsible for all
required construction requirements and procedures.
It is issued under, and all proposals submitted in response hereto shall be subject to, New Mexico Procurement
Code, §13-1-21 through 13-1- 199, NMSA 1978. All potential proposers are to read, understand and accept the
requirements of this RFP.
Project target start and completion date:
Start date January 18, 2020
Completion date January 28, 2021

Mandatory Pre-Proposal Conference
PRE-BID CONFERENCE
A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at 9:00 am MDT, through a
virtual platform. Meeting information will be available to all interested parties. Site Tours will be
scheduled and limited to no more than 5 individuals Request your Site Tour no later than July 24th,
2020 at 5:00 PM MDT. Site Tours will be held at the Popejoy Hall east lobby entrance along Cornell
Hall.
1. Respondents must e-mail nunezandre@unm.edu to request a Site Tour.
2. Tours requested after the July 24th deadline at 5:00 PM MDT will not be accommodated.
3. UNM will contact the respondents directly with their specific Site Tour schedule. Site Tours are
intended to be held on ______.
4. UNM intends on limiting the number if individual's at the Site Tour due to COVID-19. Please limit
your attendees to essential personnel only, 1 to 2 individual's max. When requesting a Site Tour
please provide the name(s) email and phone number of the attendee(s) for your company.
5. Should you have any question relating to this email please email nunezandre@umn.edu or submit
your question thru the Q&A Board.
