ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Sealed bids will be received for the Storm Drainage and Street Improvements, (Truman Road Community), CDBG No. 15b-y-046-1-5789 at the Dooly County Board of Commissioners Office, 113 N. Third Street, Room #1, Vienna, GA 31092 until 11:00 A.M. (Local Time), Thursday, November 2, 2017, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.

There will be a Pre-Bid Conference on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. (Local Time) at the Dooly County Board of Commissioners Office, 113 N. Third Street, Room #1, Vienna, GA 31092. This Pre-Bid Conference is not mandatory, but highly recommended.

The work under this Contract will consist generally of the following:

The construction of 328 LF of 18/24 RCP storm drain pipe; 648 LF of 18/24 RCP side drain pipe; 4 EA 18 flared end sections; 9.26 CY of Class A concrete for GDOT Std. 1125 headwalls; 1 EA GDOT Std. 1019A drop inlets; 993 LF of outfall ditch grading; 1,100 TN of RAC (12.5mm); 486 SY of driveway concrete (4); and miscellaneous items.

The Base Bid includes 0.366 linear miles of grading for new roadway and 0.351 linear miles of grading for full depth reclamation sections; 5,500 SY of 8 soil-cement base; 4,760 SY of FDR (8); and 280 TN of Portland Cement.

The Alternate Bid includes 0.366 linear miles of grading for new roadway and 0.351 linear miles of grading for pavement overlay; 5,500 SY of 8 soil-cement base; 150 TN of Portland Cement; 660 TN of Graded Aggregate Base (8); 160 TN of RAC leveling; and 18 CY of Class B Concrete Base.

All work on the Project must be completed within 180 consecutive calendar days of date of notice to proceed.

Bid shall be submitted on Bid Proposal Forms furnished for that purpose, in accordance with the Contract Documents and the Plans and Specifications, which are on file and may be reviewed at the office of the Dooly County Board of Commissioners and the office of Hofstadter and Associates, Inc., Consulting Engineers, 4571 Arkwright Road, Macon, Georgia 31210.

Copies of Bid Forms, Plans, Specifications and Contract Documents may be obtained from Hofstadter and Associates, Inc., 4571 Arkwright Road, Macon, Georgia 31210, upon deposit of $275.00 per hard copy set of plans and specifications and $150.00 per digital set (.pdf format). No refund will be made for returned documents.

No bid will be considered unless sealed and filed with the Dooly County Board of Commissioners prior to the time set forth above, and accompanied by a Bidder's Bond, payable to the Dooly County, for 10 percent of the amount of the bid; to be forfeited as liquidated damages in the event that the bid be accepted and the bidder fail to enter promptly into a written contract and furnish the required Payment Bond and Performance Bond and Insurance Certificates. Bids arriving after the designated time will be returned unopened.

No bids shall be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the opening of bids. Dooly County reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to overlook and/or disregard informalities or irregularities in the proposals.

Note:

In the Contract under Division I ? General Requirements in the CDBG Requirements Section, the Contractor shall abide by Section 3 Clause of the Urban Development Act of 1968.
