REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS – July 31, 2020
Drop Off Center Waste Management Services
PROPOSALS REQUESTED: Formal proposals will be received until 3:00 PM. on Friday, August 14, 2020 in the office of the City’s Department of Public Works-Business Manager, located at 11100 West Walnut Road, Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, and will be forwarded to the City’s Public Works Director for evaluation. This is not a public bid opening. It is anticipated that the City will select a Contractor in October of 2020 with Service to begin January 1, 2021.
The City of Wauwatosa is requesting proposals from well qualified and experienced waste disposal contractors to operate the City’s drop off center facility at 11100 West Walnut Road, Wauwatosa, WI in accordance with City’s Request for Proposal dated July 31, 2020 and this Official Notice. The contract period will be for one year, with two (2) one year renewal options upon mutual consent. The facility is open to the public two days per week, Wednesday and Saturday. Materials disposed of at the Drop Off include, but are not limited to refuse, wood, residential construction debris and tires. It is estimated that approximately 1,700 tons of mixed solid waste and approximately 100 tires are disposed of at the drop off center annually.

All proposal prices shall be firm for the life of the contract subject to acceptance of proposals within ninety (90) days from the date of opening. Written prices to govern.
No bid bond or performance bond is required.
Collusion between firms (contractors) is cause for rejection of all the involved proposals.
PATENTED DEVICES, EQUIPMENT AND PROCESSES: It is understood and agreed that without exception, bid prices include all royalties and costs arising from patents, trademarks, and copyrights. The successful bidder shall, in all cases, indemnify and save harmless, the City of Wauwatosa from any and all claims for infringement by reason of the use of any such patented design, device, material, or process to be used or delivered, and shall indemnify the said City of Wauwatosa for any cost, expense, and damage which it may be obliged to pay by reason of such infringement, at any time during or after delivery.
The City of Wauwatosa reserves exclusively to its self, the right to reject any, or all proposals, or to accept the proposal deemed most advantageous to the City and to waive any or all technicalities or in-formalities in submitted proposals.
Questions concerning this proposal request will be received through Friday, August 7, 2020 at 2:00 PM. Submitted questions can be directed to Kristen Kilsdonk, Department of Public Works Business Manager at firstname.lastname@example.org . When deemed relevant by the Public Works Director, answers to questions received will be distributed to all RFP holders of record by 3:00 PM on Monday, August 10, 2020.
