DIMENSIONS ARE IN QUESTION, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR OBTAINING

AND FREE FROM DEFECTS FOR ONE YEAR FROM THE DATE OF SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION OF
WORK. ANY EXTENDED WARRANTIES OBTAINED FROM SUPPLIERS OR SUBCONTRACTORS SHALL
BE FORWARDED TO THE OWNER.

DEFECTS IN MATERIALS AND WORKMANSHIP, CLEARLY DEFINING THE TERM INCLUDED IN THE
COVERAGE
C. AT THE COMPLETION OF THE INSTALLERS WORK, PROVIDE 3 COPIES OF A MAINTENANCE DATA
BINDER AND ONE ELECTRONIC COPY IN PDF FORMAT. BINDER SHALL INCLUDE MANUFACTURE’S’
PRODUCT DATA FOR ALL MATERIALS USED IN THE FLOOR CONSTRUCTION AND FINISHING,
MANUFACTURE’S RECOMMENDED MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES, AND RECOMMENDED MAINTENANCE
MATERIALS.
1.6 SAMPLES
A. CONSTRUCTION SAMPLE: PROVIDE A FINISHED 4” X 4” SECTION OF FINISHED SURFACE FLOORING
MATERIAL, DEMONSTRATING ACTUAL MATERIAL AND FINAL FINISHED COATED.
B. OWNER’S SAMPLES: PROVIDE TWO FINISHED 4” X 4” SECTION OF FINISHED SURFACE FLOORING
MATERIAL, DEMONSTRATING ACTUAL MATERIALS AND FINISH COATS. PROVIDE OWNER’S SAMPLE
AFTER FINAL APPROVAL OF CONSTRUCTION SAMPLE
1.7 QUALITY ASSURANCE
A. THE INSTALLER SHALL HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH STAGE FLOORING SIMILAR IN MATERIAL AND
DESIGN
B. THE INSTALLER SHALL BE PREPARED TO CITE REFERENCES WITH CONTRACT INFORMATION FROM
PREVIOUS STAGE FLOORING INSTALLATIONS
1.8 WARRANTY
A. WARRANT THE WORK OF THIS SECTION FOR A MINIMUM OF 2 YEARS AFTER SUBSTANTIAL
COMPLETION FOR THE ENTIRE FLOOR ASSEMBLY. THE WARRANTY SHALL INCLUDE COVERAGE FOR
ALL COSTS TO REPAIR OR REPLACE FLOORING, WHICH SHRINKS, CRACKS OR OTHERWISE
DETERIORATES EXCESSIVELY, OR WHICH BREAKS ITS ANCHORAGE, OR BOND WITH SUBSTRATE, OR
OTHERWISE FAILS. THE WARRANTY SHALL COVER FAILURES DUE TO MATERIALS OR WORKMANSHIP
B. THE INSTALLER IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR FAILURE DUE TO EXCESSIVE MOISTURE PENETRATION
THROUGH CONCRETE SUBSTRATE OR OTHER SIMILAR CAUSES FOR FAILURE WHICH ARE BEYOND
THE WORK OF THIS SECTION, EXCEPT VERIFICATION OF ACCEPTABLE SUBSTRATES.
C. THE INSTALLER WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGE RESULTING FROM IMPROPER
INSTALLATION OR EXCESSIVE USE OR ABUSE BY THE OWNER.
D. WARRANTY SHALL BE SIGNED BY INSTALLER AND BY CONTRACTOR, WHO SHALL ASSUME

PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.1 PREPERATION
A. INSPECT SUBFLOOR PRIOR TO INSTALLATION TO DETERMINE THAT IT IS DRY, CLEAN, SMOOTH, FLAT
AND FREE FROM CRACKS, HOLES, RIDGES AND OTHER DEFECTS.
B. SWEEP FLOOR TO REMOVE ANY DUST OR DIRT THAT MAY HAVE ACCUMULATED ON FLOOR.
3.2 INSTALLATION
A. REFER TO THE MANUFACTURES MOST CURRENT INSTALLATION GUIDE
B. DETERMINE WHICH TEXTURED SURFACE, FINE OR MEDIUM IS THE DESIRED FINAL SURFACE.
C. ORIENT EACH SHEET TO ENSURE THE SAME SURFACE TEXTURE IS UP AND THAT THE GRAIN
DIRECTION IS CONSISTENT THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE INSTALLATION.
D. CARE SHOULD BE TAKEN TO ENSURE THAT SCREW HEADS AREN’T DRIVEN ALL THE WAY THROUGH
THE MATERIAL. A MINIMUM OF 45 SCREWS PER SHEET IS RECOMMENDED. IF TEMPERATURE
EXTREMES ARE A POSSIBILITY, MANUFACTURER RECOMMENDS INCREASING THE NUMBER OF
SCREWS USED TO ATTACH THE FLOOR.
E. A SPACE OF 1/16” SHOULD BE PLACED BETWEEN THE SHEETS ON THEIR SIDES AND END. FOR
OUTDOOR INSTALLATIONS, A SPACE OF 1/8” IS RECOMMENDED.
F. CUT ONLY WITH A FINE-TOOTH BLADE. ANY CURVES SHOULD BE CUT USING A ROTARY TOOL, SUCH
AS A ROUTER. SAFETY GLASSES SHOULD BE WORN WHILE CUTTING THIS MATERIAL. AN
APPROPRIATE NIOSH-DESIGNATED DUST MASK SHOULD BE WORN TO PREVENT DUST INHALATION.
G. ANY RAISED EDGES SHOULD BE PROTECTED FROM WEAR USING A STEEL OR ALUMINUM
TRANSITION PIECE.
H. PAINTING IS NOT NECESSARY. CAN BE PAINTED WITH STANDARD LATEX PAINT.
a. THOROUGHLY VACUUM-CLEAN ALL SURFACES AND OTHER FINISHED SURFACES WITHIN SPACE.
b. CLEAN FLOOR SURFACE COMPLETELY FREE FROM DUST, AND DRY-MOP WITH A TACK CLOTH-CLAD

3.3 CLEAN UP
A. DISPOSAL OF THIS PRODUCT SHOULD ALWAYS COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND WASTE DISPOSAL LEGISLATION AND ANY LOCAL AUTHORITY
REQUIREMENTS. PRODUCT IS 100% POST-CONSUMER RECYCLABLE.
B. SWEEP FLOOR THOROUGHLY TO REMOVE ANY LOOSE DIRT, DUST, AND OTHER FOREIGN
MATERIALS.
C. ONLY SIMPLE DETERGENT AND WATER SHOULD BE USED TO CLEAN THE FLOOR. DO NOT USE
PETROLEUM PRODUCTS.
3.4 PROTECTION
A. COORDINATE INSTALLATION OF FINAL FLOORING MATERIAL WITH ALL OVERHEAD INSTALLATIONS.
B. PROHIBIT TRAFFIC ON FINISHED FLOOR AND COVER WITH PROTECTIVE RAM BOARD OR EQUAL FOR
DURATION OF THE PROJECT.
C. PROTECT COMPLETED FLOORING DURING REMAINDER OF CONSTRUCTION PERIOD.

15. UPON REMOVAL OF EXISTING /TEMPORARY PARTITIONS, THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR
PATCHING WALLS, CEILINGS, AND FLOORS TO MATCH EXISTING ADJACENT CONSTRUCTION.
16. ALL CONTRACTORS SHALL COORDINATE THEIR WORK WITH THAT OF ALL OTHER TRADES TO

17. DURING DEMOLITION, DO NOT REMOVE ANY ITEMS WHICH JEOPARDIZE THE STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY

18. AT NO TIME, SHALL THE CONTRACTOR INTERFERE WITH THE NORMAL OPERATIONS OF THE OWNER.
