ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Due to the ongoing health concerns from the COVID-19 the following special procedures
for Bidding of this work will be followed.
Sealed bids will be received ELECTRONICALLY to the Purchasing Department of the Guilford County School System up
until 2:00pm on August 17, 2020. All electronic bids shall be sent to Joe Farrar at email@example.com
No public bid opening will be held due to the current health crisis. Please specify Bid number 6215in your communications.
A brief description of work in the project follows: Remove and replace cylinders/cores for all Guilford County Schools exterior
doors with access, compliant with ANSI/BHMA A156.5; latest revision
An optional “Virtual” pre-bid conference will be held via Microsoft Teams free conference call system, at 11:00 am on
August 05, 2020.
E-Verify Requirements: This project requires the awarded vendor to comply with the requirements of E-Verify. (U.S. law
requiring companies to employ only individuals who may legally work in the United States – either U.S. citizens, or foreign
citizens who have the necessary authorization.)
Minority businesses are encouraged to submit bids for this project. The appropriate forms from the section entitled
“Participation by Women and Minority Owned Businesses” must be submitted with each bid to show good faith efforts to
obtain Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprise participation.
The Guilford County Board of Education awards public contracts without regard to race, religion, color, creed, national origin,
sex, age or handicapped condition as defined by North Carolina General Statutes, Section 168A-3. The Board reserves the
right to reject any or all bids presented and to waive any informalities and irregularities.
