*Synopsis*



The purpose of this synopsis is to provide a notice to the public of information applicable to the U.S. Forest Service of its requirement for Fuels Reduction at Umpqua National Forest, OR. FS is issuing this synopsis in accordance with FAR Part 5.204 Pre-Solicitation Notice.



Description: This project is to conduct fuels reduction in Umpqua National Forest, OR.



The work will be performed on the Diamond Lake Ranger District on the Umpqua National Forest in southwest Oregon. Units are located along Forest Road 4795. Refer to attached SOW.



Fuels Treatments are intended to meet the following management objectives: restore conifer stands to sustainable density levels, increase resistance and resiliency to disturbance, limit wildland fire rate of spread, and/or to establish holding areas for use during prescribed burning and fire suppression activities. Burning of piles is not included in this contract. See below for specific details.



Place of Performance: Umpqua National Forest, OR.



Competitive Acquisition: It is anticipated that this will be a competitive acquisition 100% set-aside for small business participation.



Contract Type: Firm Fixed Price



Period of Performance: The anticipated period of performance is 09/04/2023 – 02/29/2024.

Release of the Solicitation: It is anticipated that the release of Solicitation No. 12048923Q0016 is anticipated to be released around March 21, 2023. Should there be any issues arising for this solicitation, the Contracting Officer will provide an update via https://www.sam.gov.
