Special Purpose Craft – Ice Rescue Transport (SPC-IRT) Request for Information



Synopsis:



The United States Coast Guard (USCG) is seeking information from potential offerors interested in and capable of manufacturing and delivering a composite hull fan propelled boat that will be operated by U.S. Coast Guard stations on the Great Lakes. The primary purpose is to transit ice and open water during cold weather search and rescue operations.



This RFI seeks information with regard to the following:




  1. Do you have a craft already in production that meets the preliminary requirements or a design that could be modified to meet the requirements? If so, please provide information on the design and any boats that have been built to this design. (specification sheets, drawings, photographs, production information, etc.)

  2. If you do not have a boat in production, and you are interested in submitting a proposal, how would you pursue proposing a hull form that is proven and ready for production?

  3. What is a reasonable time period to complete a detailed design and build and deliver the first boat?

  4. What is a reasonable time period to build and deliver additional boats?

  5. For lifecycle support, to what extent do you normally provide logistics information? (CAD models, drawings and technical data)

  6. What are the standard warranty terms?

  7. What is the rough order of magnitude (ROM) price of your current craft? What is the ROM of the design and engineering effort to meet the SPC-IRT requirements? What is the ROM for a first article and subsequent SPC-IRT boats?

  8. What is your company’s size and socio-economic status?
