UPDATE 9/26/2023: Amendment 0002 is attached.



UPDATE 9/19/2023: An outstanding issue regarding soil borings and micropiles has been risen that requires resolution. As such, and Amendment to include the necessary information will be attached when the information is available, along with an extension until 9/28/23 at 5PM ET which is already enacted. Both of these actions will be formalized in Amendment 0002.



UPDATE 9/8/2023: An additional plan sheet clarifying the scope for the removal of the existing structure and associated remediation has been added to this solicitation via Amendment 0001, and included in the Attachments/Links. All work to remove the existing structure, excavate to final grade, stabilize the banks, fill any cavities, and complete any necessary related work described in the plans, specifications, and other contract documents is included in item 0001AE 20304 – Removal of Old Structure, Disposal Method A. All responsive bids must acknowledge this Amendment to be considered for contract award.



Questions and Answers from the 8/30/23 site visit are included in the Attachments/Links. Additional questions have been answered as of 9/13/2023, and are attached as well.



The USDA Forest Service is soliciting bids via an Invitation for Bids (IFB) to complete work associated with replacement of an Aquatic Organism Passageway (AOP) on Forest Road (FR) 209. Bids are due 9/21/2023 at 4pm ET. This project is subject to a Total Small Business Set-Aside. Bidders will be provided a link to the bid opening at time of (or soon afterward) bid submission.



This project will provide construction services for furnishing and installing one box beam bridge system on FR 209 Shavers Fork – Forest Road 209 Culvert Replacement With Bridge For Aquatic Organism Passage Improvement. The work shall include, but not be limited to, construction survey and staking, E&S, clearing and grubbing, installation of cofferdams and dewatering the site, excavation for placement of riprap, removal of existing structure, installation of bridge structure, micropiling, roadway subbase and aggregate, asphalt cement, guardrail, and riprap armoring.



A bid bond is required, as the estimated magnitude of construction is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. All bidders must be registered in SAM.gov to be eligible for award.

A site visit is currently scheduled for 0830 ET on 8/30/2023. The location to meet at is at the intersection of US-250 and FR 209; a gate will be opened at that time, with a Forest Service representative providing an escort to the project location.
