The Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Bath, Maine (SSBA) intends to award a Sole Source contract to Miller Marine of 2275 Manya St. San Diego, CA 92154 for damage control equipment in the form of kitted box, plate, and jubilee patches in support of the outfitting requirement for US Navy Ships T-AO 208, 209, and ESB7.
SSBA will use FAR Part 13 - Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition. The authority for soliciting a single source under simplified acquisition procedures is FAR 13.106-l(b)(l)(i), Soliciting Competition, which states that contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available (e.g., urgency, exclusive licensing agreements, brand-name or industrial mobilization). The proposed contract action is Sole Source. In accordance with FAR 5.102, the required justification documentation is attached.
This Notice of Intent is not a request for quotation. No solicitation or RFQ will be forthcoming. Interested parties may identify their interest and submit product information in response to this notice via email to christopher.p.ramsden2.civ@us.navy.mil and hannah.e.lavoie.civ@us.navy.mil. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract is entirely at the discretion of the Government. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
