EXCEPT AS MODIFIED OR AMPLIFIED IN RFP, THIS ITEM CONTAINS CLASS "C" EXPLOSIVES. DFAR CLAUSE 252.223-7002, SAFETY PRECAUTIONS FOR AMMUNITION AND EXPLOSIVES (MAY 1994) APPLIES.
THIS ACQUISITION CONTAINS EXPLOSIVE NAVAL ORDNANCE ITEMS, WHICH REQUIRE SPECIAL SECURITY, SAFETY AND TRANSPORTATION CLAUSES. THE CLAUSES MAY BE FOUND IN SECTION "I".
CODE N742.14 NOTE: PAPER COPIES OF THE SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE PROVIDED BY THE NAVY. THIS PROCUREMENT IS RESTRICTED TO QUALIFIED SOURCES. THIS ITEM IS PROPRIETARY TO CARLETON TECHNOLOGIES, INC. THE GOVERNMENT TDP IS NOT COMPLETE AND IS ONLY THE TOP DRAWING. THIS ITEM IS AN EXPLOSIVE DEVICE. NSN: 6135-01-341-5141, AWAA, 12 VOLT BATTERY ASSEMBLY; QUANTITY: 1,068 EA USED IN THE BQM-74E CHUKAR. FIRST ARTICLE TESTING, PRODUCTION LOT TESTING, CONTRACT DATA REQUIREMENT LIST, AND FOB ORIGIN APPLY. THERE IS NO DRAWING PACKAGE AVAILABLE FOR THIS ITEM. A DIGITAL CERTIFICATE IS REQUIRED FOR VIEWING WEB BASED DRAWINGS.

Based upon market research, the Government is not using the policies contained in Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, in its solicitation for the described supplies or services. However, interested persons may identify to the contracting officer their interest and capability to satisfy the Government's requirement with a commercial item within 15 days of this notice.

A Safety Survey will be required. The solicitation contains LAT, CDRLs, FOB Origin, & X-Ray Requirements. Effective April 1, 2008 FedBizOpps (www.fbo.gov) website will now include current FedTeDS functionality. No interfaces or user accounts should be distributed as a part of this change.
