Roaring River Trail Bridge Replacement

Mountain Home Ranger District, Boise National Forest, Elmore County, Idaho

This project consists of mobilization, soil erosion & pollution control, removal and disposal of an existing unserviceable steel trail bridge, hand-placed Rip Rap armoring of new bridge abutments using local in-situ rock, minor excavation, transportation, and installation of an existing government-sourced prefabricated steel trail bridge, minor repair work to the government-provided superstructure as indicated in the plans, design, purchase, delivery, and installation of new substructure for the government-provided superstructure, construction of approach embankments at the new bridge location, and general cleanup. This is a remote site not accessible by standard vehicles or heavy equipment and will likely require helicopter transportation in order to remove and dispose of the old structure, to relocate and reinstall the government-provided superstructure, and potentially to transport materials for the new substructure. The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and supplies and shall perform all work required to complete the project as shown on the plans, shown on the manufacturer’s shop drawings, and as described in the Standard Specifications (FP-14) and Forest Service Supplemental Specifications (FSSS).

The project is located is approximately 1.7 miles south along the Roaring River Trail (#045001) from its junction with National Forest System Road (NFSR) #255 in T4N, R8E, Section 11, Mountain Home Ranger District, Boise National Forest, Idaho. Detailed travel directions to the project location are included in the plans.

Limited camping for project personnel will be allowed at the site with permission of the COR. Staging of materials for the project will be allowed in designated areas inside the project boundary if approved in writing by the COR at the time of the project implementation.
