Amendment 0001: Questions and answers attachment from the site visit uploaded

A site visit will be held on 18 April 2024, 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm. Offerors are urged to inspect the buses and to satisfy themselves regarding all general and local conditions that may affect the cost of the contract performance, to the extent that the information is reasonably obtainable. In no event shall failure to inspect the site constitute grounds for a claim later. This is the only planned site visit. Attending the site visit is not required to propose; however, the offeror does so at their own risk.



Personnel attending the site visit must provide their name, name of company, phone number, and email by 16 April, 2:00 pm MST to the following:

The site visit bus will depart the Pass and Registration Center at approximately 1:15 pm. To reach the Center take Exit 150 off I-25. The Pass and Registration Center is on the right-hand side prior to entering the South Gate at US Air Force Academy. All personnel must have a CAC, driver’s license, military or government ID.

THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY.



This RFI is issued solely to determine potential sources for information and planning purposes – it does not constitute a Request for Quote (RFQ or a promise to issue an RFQ in the future. This RFI should not be construed as a commitment by the Government for any purpose other than to gain the information requested for market research. The Government is not at this time seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. Respondees are advised that the Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any potential future RFQ. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on the Contract Opportunities website (sam.gov). It is the responsibility of potential offerors to monitor this site for additional information pertaining to this requirement.



The purpose of this notice is to conduct market research, a continuous process for collecting and analyzing information about capabilities within the market to satisfy agency needs. The acquisition strategy has not yet been determined and market research results will assist the United States Air Force in determining the direction any acquisition will take.



Set-Aside Status



Respondents to this notice must indicate whether they qualify as small or large business under NAICS 811121, Automotive Body, Paint, and Interior Repair and Maintenance (size standard $9M).



Questions:




  1. Please provide your business socio-economic category if a small business or state you are a large business.

  2. Do you have similar past performance?

  3. Typically, what is the timeframe to remove the wrap, make minor repairs, and complete the painting.

  4. What is the commercial standard warranty for the service?

  5. The service must be performed at the contractor’s location. Can your facility accommodate a large bus for painting? If not, would you be subcontracting with a small or large business for facility use?

  6. How many miles is the paint facility from the US Air Force Academy?

  7. If a site visit is held, what are the risks associated with a firm fixed price contract?

  8. Provide point of contact, email, phone number, and SAM unique number.

  9. Any comments to the statement of objectives or relevant to this requirement.
