This notice is intended strictly for market research. The purpose of this Sources Sought notice is to determine interest and capability of potential qualifications of Small Businesses firms relative to the North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) 333310. The Department of Veteran s Affairs is seeking small business firms, small manufacturer, or distributors of small business manufacturers, for the following:
VAMC Northport is seeking to purchase a new 400lb steam washer and a 400lb steam dryer to replace the existing washer and dryer. This equipment is needed to wash uniforms, microfiber mop heads and other miscellaneous items. VAMC Northport will only consider new machines. Refurbished or remanufactured will not meet the needs of our facility. All quotes must be reviewed by EMS staff prior to award for acceptance.

Scope:

The Contractor shall provide all equipment, tools, and materials to deliver the new washer and dryer to Building 13. VAMC Northport will perform the installation. The new washer and dryer will be delivered to the Laundry Center in Building 13. There is a double door outside the Laundry Center in Building 13 that leads directly into the washing and drying area. This double door will suffice in allowing for the delivery of the new washers and dryers.

The required replacement steam dryer needs to be able to handle 400 lbs. with two-doors, one-way semi-automatic tilt with external lint collection with reverse cylinder.

The required replacement steam washer extractor needs to be able to handle 400 lbs. with steam injection, chemical injection and has an hour meter between the washer base and floor, in accordance with the manufacturer s written instructions.

At least 160 cu. Ft. basket frame
Basket doors that seals to and rotates with basket to prevent damage to product during drying
Self-adjusting belts around basket to provide variable tension.
Machine housing must tilt up to 15 degrees to facilitate fast and easy loading and unloading of machine.
Heat control mechanism
Must contain exhaust system that includes a device to automatically clean accumulated lint from rotor at the beginning of each cycle.
Programmable Water temperature for each bath
Must have a means of providing makeup air directly to the burner and combustion chamber from the outside to precent negative air pressure within the plant.
English language touchscreen controls
Detailed machine overview screen that displays temperature, time, program number, faults, dryer cycle, excess backpressure, and other pertinent information.
Ability to customize dry/cool down process by wither time or inlet/outlet temperatures.
Lint trap controls with lint collector
Automatic fire safety suppression system with alarm
Exhaust blower sensor
Basket rotation sensor
Tilt interlock safety switches
Door safety switches
Guards on moving parts
Door open on power failure

Period of Performance is 90 days after contract award.

Warranty:
Equipment shall be warrantied against defective materials and workmanship under normal use for a period of one (1) year from the date the equipment is tested and considered satisfactory and fully functional.
