NOTICE FOR NRL INDUSTRY DAY:

NRL INNOVATION DAY FOR INDUSTRY

The U.S. Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) is hosting an Innovation Day for Industry, on May 16, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. ET at its headquarters in Washington, DC.

The purpose of this event is to inform industry and to assess interest in a focused set of emerging technologies that are ready for collaboration with industry partners to advance system-level technologies.

Participants will have the opportunity to hear from NRL scientists and engineers, to learn about previous NRL-industry collaborative success stories, to tour the laboratory facilities, and to meet with technology transfer and contracting office representatives.

Register for this event to:

SHARE comprehensive insights to identify collaborative opportunities.

COLLABORATE with NRL to enhance innovation in key areas of emerging technology.

ACCELERATE technology development to enhance warfighter capabilities.

The NRL Innovation Day for Industry will provide a venue for NRL to discuss potential future opportunities and exchange ideas on the following topics:

Space science and technologies

  • Launch, transport, and lunar surface operation of an NRL lunar surface science optical instrument to monitor meteoroid flux and associated impact dust ejecta.

  • Manufacturing capability for NRL Optical Ground Terminal.

  • Industry support to develop and prototype Optical Communications Terminals.

Naval systems technologies

  • Software life-cycle maintenance for debugging, updating, or adding new features to the NRL Radar Target Signature (RTS) analysis code.

  • Software life-cycle maintenance for debugging, updating, or adding new features to an NRL Tactical Decision Aid (TACAID) software product.

  • Manufacturing capability for NRL high frequency radar transponders.

  • Manufacturing capability for NRL high frequency radar digital exciters.

  • Manufacturing capability for NRL high frequency radar digital receivers.

  • Software toolset prototype development to advance NRL high assurance software development.

  • Legacy software toolset modernization capability to advance NRL high assurance software development.

Biotechnology, energy and materials technologies

  • Transition of 1 liter scale prototype biomanufacturing approaches and related technologies to commercially viable production and availability.

  • Domestic manufacturing of an NRL fuel cell separator plate design.

  • Manufacturing of NRL's high selectivity copper/ceria aerogel catalysts into a reactor that removes carbon monoxide poison from hydrogen feedstock for long duration hydrogen fuel cells.

  • Commercialization of NRL multiaxial robotic material testing technologies for performance characterization applicable to commercial and/or military components and systems.

  • Commercialization of NRL full field optical direct strain measurement technology for commercial and/or military components and system applications.

Optical and laser technologies

  • Industrial capabilities to develop high-peak, high-average power pulsed laser sources, components, and related technologies for NRL directed energy technologies.

  • Systems applications for NRL non-mechanical optical beam steering chip technology.

  • Optical component manufacturing capabilities and/or systems applications for NRL antireflective surface structure technology for glass optics.

NRL is prepared to discuss these topics at the appropriate level, either Unclassified, Controlled Unclassified Information, or Classified/Secret level.
