Sources Sought Notice: Rental House for Cook Inlet Beluga Surveys



Introduction: The Alaska Fisheries Science Center (AFSC) of the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is seeking rental housing in Anchorage, Alaska, to support the Cook Inlet beluga whale surveys. The NMFS conducts both manned and unmanned aerial surveys to monitor the abundance and distribution of these whales. These surveys are conducted under the U.S. Marine Mammal Protection Act (MMPA) and the U.S. Endangered Species Act (ESA) to assess the status of marine mammal populations in U.S. waters.

As a result of the need to conduct these operations locally, the team will need lodging services during the dates specified below.



Technical Specifications: The rental house must meet the following specifications:




  • Located as close as possible to the Ship Creek Boat Launch at 25 Small Boat Launch Rd, Anchorage, AK 99501.

  • Sleeping accommodations for 3-5 people.

  • 3-5 individual bedrooms with beds.

  • At least two bathrooms.

  • Fully furnished.

  • Full kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, and oven.

  • Large living room/common space for team collaboration.

  • Washing machine and dryer.

  • Reliable internet connection.

  • Off-street parking.



Requested Delivery Date/Period of Performance:




  • June 2-14, 2024 (three people)

  • July 1-9, 2024 (three people)

  • July 19-26, 2024 (three people)

  • Aug 15-24, 2024 (three people)

  • Sep 15-22, 2024 (three people)



Option Year 1:




  • 21-30 days between June 1 – September 30, 2025 (3-5 people)



Option Year 2:




  • 21-45 days between June 1 – September 30, 2026 (3-5 people)



Option Year 3:




  • 21-30 days between June 1 – September 30, 2027 (3-5 people)



Submission Instructions: Interested parties should submit their capabilities to meet the requirements outlined above by [08 MAR 2024]. Responses should include a description of the property, rental terms, and any additional information relevant to the rental.
