The following summary of work is for the purpose of general information and is not intended to include and describe every feature or item or to define the scope of work. It is expected that the contractor will visit the site of work and thoroughly familiarize himself with the conditions existing there. Failure on the part of the contractor to acquaint himself with the site conditions will not be sufficient reason for any increase in contract price.
Contractor shall provide the necessary services, labor, material, equipment and control components required to manufacture, supply and install a small parcel sorter and conveyor system in Building 56. The Contractor shall furnish and install a package conveyor and sorter system. A new, elevated/covered conveyor/personnel Crossover Bridge will be installed between Building 16B-5 and Building 56-4 and shall provide 16 feet of vertical vehicle clear over the road that runs between the two buildings. The material handling system shall consist of floor and elevated package transport and accumulation conveyor, incline and decline belt conveyor, three overhead omni-directional bar code scanners, protective guardrail, forklift guards and a video monitoring system. The Contractor shall remove the existing ground-level building-to-building connecting crossover and all associated conveyor along with all conveyors/sorters in Building 56-4 and dispose of it off site. The Contractor shall provide, install, test and make operable the conveyor system. The Contractor shall train government personnel to maintain the conveyor system: small parcel sorter and conveyor system in Building 56 at DLA Distribution San Joaquin, CA (DDJC) located at 25600 S. Chrisman Road, Tracy, CA 95304.
Place of Performance:
CLIN 0001 - Small Parcel Sorter and Conveyor Project.
The work to be performed shall be during the regular working hours which consist of a 9 hour period established by the Contracting Officer, Monday through Friday, normally 7:00 am to 4:30 pm, excluding Government holidays.
This acquisition is Unrestricted.
This acquisition will be solicited utilizing FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, supplemented by FAR Part 15, Contracting by Negotiation, and evaluated in accordance with FAR 15.101-1, Tradeoff Process.
The NAICS Code for this procurement is 333922.
The tentative timeframe for issuance of solicitation SP3300-17-R-5007for the above stated requirement is on or around May 17, 2017. A pre-proposal/site visit will be conducted. Information and instructions will be provided with the solicitation.
Access to the solicitation package to include the specifications and drawings will only be made available to prospective offerors via the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website at http: www.fbo.gov. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be distributed.

All responsible business concerns may submit a proposal which shall be considered by this agency. The Government intends to award one contract as a result of this solicitation. Award will be made to the Offeror which provides the best value to the Government. An offeror must be determined responsible according to the standards of FAR Subpart 9 to be eligible for award.
