SECTION 1 - DISCLAIMER

This Request for Information (RFI) is issued for MARKET RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLY. It is not a Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Quote (RFQ), Invitation for Bid (IFB), or any obligation on the part of the Government to acquire products or services. Responses to this RFI are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Any and all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely the respondent's expense and will not be reimbursed by the Government. Information provided by respondents MAY be used by Government in acquisition planning and may eventually be considered in future solicitations. Respondents should not include any proprietary information in their response. DO NOT submit any classified materials. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future solicitations. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized in the applicable Government wide Point of Entry. It is the responsibility of the potential respondents to monitor these sites for additional information pertaining to this requirement.

SECTION 2– CAPABILITY STATEMENT

A complete response to this RFI shall address all inquiries below with the specific information sought and/or feedback on how the requested requirement might feasibly be obtained. Areas of Inquiry:

Company History and Area of Expertise

1. CAGE code, DUNS or UEI, and business size status

2. A brief description of company’s core capabilities and services

3. A brief statement of relevant past experience

4. Identify if a teaming arrangement or sub-contract would be needed to fulfill the requirement

5. Discuss company request process and timeline to provide a ROM

6. List government contract awards or past/present contract awards that met relevant requirements

Requestor

This Request for Information (RFI) is being released by the Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) in conjunction with the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL) Hybrid Architecture Demonstrations (HAD) Team. This group is actively investigating future concepts of a Hybrid Space Architecture (HSA)–hereby defined as an integrated system of commercial, allied, and traditional US Government capabilities of varied sizes, orbits, and phenomenologies.

Purpose

The HAD Team is seeking new technologies to help manage the mission planning aspect of the diverse and proliferated HSA. Such application of space operations aims to dramatically improve deterrence and resilience in space while providing substantial new information advantage for science, commerce, and security. As new technologies arise very rapidly, this RFI is intended to deliver a fresh look at current and emerging satellite mission planning capabilities.

Responses

Responses of this RFI should come from parties with applicable satellite mission planning capabilities either existing or in development as outlined in section 2 below. Many opportunities and challenges are expected to exist within the management of the HSA as envisioned, and responses are encouraged to highlight both.
