Background Information: A sinkhole along Coast Guard (CG) Street, within the vicinity of 1498 CG ST, was found in January 2022. Currently the opening of the hole is 5” X 6” (grass area near sidewalk), with a depth of 3’ to 4’ and the width expands the lower the depth of the hole. Upon inspection of the area and the storm water drain box, conditions found that the 24” concrete drainpipe separated from the exterior of the drain box and piping. Hence when storm water flows through the pipe it erodes the surrounding dirt, thus creating the sinkhole. The sidewalk directly above the damage area can be observed to be lower than the existing sidewalk.

SCOPE OF WORK: Saw cut an estimated 8’x 4’ area and excavate fill down to drainage piping (8’ depth). Repair the pipe and seal appropriately to the drain box and concrete piping. Back fill with appropriate fill dirt and rock base and compact to required specifications. Form and pour new concrete sidewalk to match existing sidewalk. Contractors will provide all required local permits, labor, materials, equipment, proper removal of, and design of services necessary to construct and repair.
