Description
Air Compressor and Vacuum Systems Preventive Maintenance
And Repair Services, Washington D.C VAMC.

Scope of work
The Washington DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) seeks preventive maintenance and repair services on the air compressor and vacuum systems located at 50 Irving St NW, Washington D.C, 20422. Air and vacuum producing systems include air compressor, vacuum system sets and all associated control panels.
The furnishing of any repairs or parts will be handled on a case-by-case basis. Contractor shall immediately notify the Contracting Officers Representative, IN WRITING, of the existence or the development of any defects in, or repairs required to the air compressor and vacuum system components and furnish a written estimate of the cost to make necessary repair. If deficiencies are discovered during a preventive maintenance service visit that necessitate repair/replacement the COR shall be notified and provided a quote for repairs. This contract shall have a parts rider and additional manhours to cover the cost of emergency repairs in between preventive maintenance service visits. Contractor Shall adhere to all VA Health Care Guidelines and all ASME Codes

Immediate Repair.
Time is of the essence: Three compressors that support the pneumatic controls for the HVAC Systems climate control throughout the DC VA Medical Center campus are compromised and need repairs.
The contractor shall provide all labor land parts and supervision necessary to perform the scope of services below on the Government-owned air compressors:
Air Compressor Repairs as follows:
Lockout and tag power to safely work on unit

Demo, remove compromised parts
Supply and install the following:
Three (3) ea. Powerex model SLAE10 basic oilless scroll pumps,
Ten (10) ea. BT023900AV belts,
Three (3) ea. CV 158 check valves.

Start-up and test operations
Conformance Standard of Repair
Service shall ensure that the equipment functions in conformance with the following latest published standards/codes/specifications/regulations to include, but not limited to:
Joint Commission for the Accreditation of Healthcare
Organizations (JCAHO), American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
DC VAMC Engineering Service Standard Operating Procedures
The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)

Preventive maintenance required
Provide all labor, materials and equipment necessary for full preventive maintenance program to maintain Air compressor and Vacuum producing systems sets and associated systems/equipment. Any charges for materials such as lubricants, fluids, cleaning supplies, parts, services, manuals, tools, or software required for the Contractor to successfully complete schedule installation shall be provided by the Contractor and are included within this contract, and it s agreed upon price.
Visual inspection of the air compressors and systems, advise on proper maintenance operation.
Lubricate electric motor if necessary
Change air filter element each visit.
Change oil each visit.
Check V-belts for proper adjustment and operation if applicable
Check valves for wear and proper lubrication if applicable.
Check all safety devices for proper operation
Drain receiver, and/or check automatic condensate trap for proper operation.
Check and adjust controls for proper operation.
Check safety shutdown systems.
Submit to customer a completed evaluation form after each visit.
