Special Notice Notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source Procurement
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Network Contracting Office 17, intends to award a firm-fixed priced contract/order to SIRTEX MEDICAL INC for procurement of Y90 SIR-Spheres Microspheres to work with SIRTEX MEDICAL INC products. The projected awardee is an authorized distributor and service center of SIRTEX MEDICAL INC products.
Contractors shall provide:
Manufacturing and delivery of Y-90 Resin Microspheres
Must be licensed by the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (USNRC), or a State with a formal Agreement with the USNRC that allows the State to regulate radioactive materials (Licensee), and be regularly established in the business of providing radiopharmaceuticals at the scale and frequency necessary to meet this requirement. The Radiopharmaceuticals must be shipped from the Licensee directly to VA North Texas Dallas VA Medical Center
Offeror must provide copies of all relevant licenses, certifications, and/or partnering agreement(s), along with their proposal to the Contracting Officer
All applicable Nuclear Regulatory Commission, VA/National Health Physics Program (NHPP), Department of Transportation, FDA, Joint Commission, OSHA, State, and Federal requirements, rules, and/or regulations related to the supply of Radiopharmaceuticals
Contractor/licensee must be able to provide therapeutic Nuclear Medicine radiopharmaceuticals to VA North Texas Dallas VA Medical Center
This notice is not to be considered a request for quotations or proposals. A contract will not be awarded based on an offer received in response to this notice; however, all responsible sources may submit an authorized distribution letter for SIRTEX MEDICAL INC products and a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, to matthew.lee5@va.gov which shall be considered by the agency.
Proposals or offers received will be used to determine if a comparable source is available and more advantageous to the government. If no affirmative written response is received within 5 days from the publication of this notice, a contract/order will be issued to SIRTEX MEDICAL INC without any further notice.
The proposed contract actions are for services, which the government intends to negotiate with only one source. The anticipated statutory authorities permitting other than full and open competition for the requirement is 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1), as implemented by FAR 13.5.
The proposed sole source procurement will be made by a pricing agreement with SIRTEX MEDICAL INC.
