This requirement is for Foster&Freeman crime flashlights. NCIS requires a forensic light sources (FLS) which is a vital requirement for any Military Criminal Investigative Organization (MCIO) for use in criminal investigations. The FLS are to be used so NCIS can detect the evidence that may not be visible naturally. Generally, an FLS is composed of a powerful lamp consisting of multispectral components of light. It then filters the light down into separate color bands (wavelengths) that aid in improving the display of evidence with light interaction technique, such as absorption (darkening of evidence), fluorescence (glowing of evidence) and oblique lighting (revealing of small particle evidence).
