INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: The Department of Veteran Affairs intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Livanova. This purchase order will be for Protek Duo, Dual lumen (RVAD/VV-ECMO), cannula (29FR and 31FR) for the cardiology Department at the Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Central Richmond Virginia.
The Protek Duo provides centrifugal flow throughout the heart; rated up to 5 L/min with sizes, 29 FR and 31 FR. It has the ability to be connected to portable heart pump and/or oxygenator. Its the only approved medical device capable for RVAD and VV-ECMO tasks by the FDA (FDA 510(k) Clearance K232480—Medical Devices).
This proposed contract action is for supplies for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all expressions of interest received within three (3) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. Interested contractors may identify their capability to provide the services prescribed within this notice and should provide sufficient data for the government to determine them as a comparable alternative to the intended source by sending capability statements in reference to this requirement no later than 12:00 PM EST, April 26, 2024 to: robert.morgan@va.gov.
