Q:Do you have the current part number for reference?
A:The current product being used by APHIS PPQ MFFRF is a custom product made by the previous contractor, Archer Advanced Rubber Components.
Previous Purchase Order # 12639519P0083
Q: What is the purpose of the cotton insert/main use of the product?
A: The main use for the product is for the Mexican Fruit Fly colony cages. The flies use the material to lay their eggs. Please see the statement of work (SOW) in the solicitation for further details.
Q:Is the cotton insert mandatory?
A: Yes
Q: Do you have a sample copy of what you are currently using?
A:Yes, images of the current product are included in the attachments tab below. Included within the images are measurements of the thickness using a digital caliper.
Q: Is the nitrile thickness negotiable?
A: TBD – The thickness cannot be too thick as the flies need to deposit their eggs through the material. Based on measurements provided by the program, the thickness can range from 0.35-0.47mm
