The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is conducting market research to determine the availability of qualified businesses capable of providing (qty 910) 12VDC AGM Batteries as described in the required features and specifications below. This sources sought announcement is not a request for quote or proposal and the Government is not committed to award of a purchase order or contract pursuant to this announcement. The information resulting from this market research is simply for planning purposes to assist the Government in determining its acquisition strategy. The Government will not pay for any costs incurred in the preparation of information for responding to this notice.

The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code - 335910 Battery Manufacturing and associated size standard size of 1,250 apply to this announcement.

All responsible sources may submit a brochure and/or technical specifications detailing the ability of meeting the required features and specifications included with this announcement.

Required features and specifications:

MINIMUM TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS (12V Lead/Acid AGM battery):

1) Nominal 12V output
2) Deep Cycle
3) AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) technology
4) Approximate dimensions 12"x6.5"x9" (LWH); Group-27
5) Capacity 100Ah, or greater, at 100-hour rate
6) M8 style, threaded insert terminals with associated bolts, nuts, and washers
7) Shipping weight not to exceed 70 lbs.
8) Demonstrated high performance at low temperature (-20F to 0F)
9) Demonstrated high performance at high temperatures (80F - 100F)
10) Rechargeable and suitable for use in solar and wind charging power systems
11) Battery must be sealed
12) Terminals must be recessed (cannot project above top of battery) to allow direct stacking of batteries and to provide a safeguard against inadvertent shorts between terminals
13) Must have integrated handle for easy lifting, transport, and safe handling of battery.
14) Must be a listed product in current production (product modifications or product development are not acceptable for this order).
15) Manufactured in the USA.
