REMOVAL OF STANDING DEAD TREES IN HOMER, ALASKA



GENERAL REQUIREMENTS



Contractor shall provide all labor, tools, materials, transportation, equipment, qualified supervision and personnel to safely fell, limb, and grind the stumps of approximately 35 trees; grind stumps to approximately ground level. Some of the trees are extremely close to residential building and may require extra precautions.



Items in this scope of work are considered the major items of work required to complete the work effort, and in no way limits details & work not specified included that the contractor is responsible for and required to be installed. This may include requirement in referenced documents, code requirements, and workmanship details.

SCOPE



The following items comprise the scope of work for this project. Items will not necessarily be



Completed in the order listed.



1. Use required PPE, and disposal practices.



2. Cut down any dead or partially dead tree that if it were to fall naturally, it would be a danger to one of the buildings.



3. Trim all branches and leave on site.



4. Once trimmed, logs will be placed in one location on site near fire pit.



4. Only easily accessible stumps will be ground in place. Stumps will not be disturbed in wet areas or immediately adjacent to healthy trees. Unground stumps should be cut as close to the ground as possible.



5. Repair any damage to lawn caused by crew or equipment.



Unsatisfactory performance shall result in additonal work being done at no cost to the



government.





The Contractor shall keep the Local Housing Representative and KO fully informed on the daily progress of the work; from



the start through completion of this inspection. The government shall use a 100% surveillance



method. Inspection of work shall be performed periodically while work is being performed and



prior to contractor leaving the site. The Local Housing Representative will conduct these inspections and provide final



acceptance of the work.



PERFORMANCE PERIOD



Services shall be completed NLT 01AUG2023.



WORK HOURS



Normal working hours for this project shall be Monday through Friday 0700-1700 excluding all Federal holidays. Work outside these hours shall require the written approval of the Contracting Officer or his/her authorized representative.



SUBMITTALS REQUIREMENTS



Submit detailed product information data for all materials and equipment items to be installed.



The work includes demolition and removal of resulting rubbish and debris. Store materials that



cannot be removed daily in areas specified by the Local Housing Representative.

The Contractor is responsible for proper disposal and any associated fees to the local landfill



operated by the Kenai Peninsula Borough.
