3 SCOPE OF WORK
The City of Hot Springs, Arkansas, on behalf of the Public Works Department, is accepting bids as described in the
scope of work and Intracity Transit stamped plans to install steel beams and columns. The scope of work is to
provide labor and materials to install steel beams and columns to support the existing concrete beams and concrete
floor system in place. Add a sump area to provide a location for the basement to be pumped out. The pump and
system shall be provided and designed by the Contractor. The following specifications describe the minimum
requirements. Bidders can find the Intracity Transit Plans in the attachments of this bid.
The equipment shall be of a new, current design production model, and available to the commercial market. The
City of Hot Springs reserves the right to award the sections that are within the budget available. The equipment
shall comply with all state and federal safety requirements. Any deviations to these specifications shall be explained.
The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any formalities or irregularities. The City also
reserves the right to require additional information of bidders in order to determine responsibleness.
All bidders may request a walk-through of the project at 100 Broadway Terrace, Hot Springs, Arkansas, with the
Public Works Department, Ron Sievwright. Bidders can contact Ron Sievwright at 501-321-6901.
A. CONTRACT DESCRIPTION
1. Work of the Project includes installing steel beams and columns to support the existing concrete beams and
concrete floor system. Add a sump area to provide a location for the basement to be pumped out. The pump and
system shall be provided and designed by the Contractor.
2. In accordance with the Conditions of the Contract work shall be performed under the stipulated sum contract.
B. CONTRACT'S USE OF SITE AND PREMISES
1. The Contractor shall have access to the immediate areas of the site where work is being undertaken and will take
full responsibility for those portions of the site during working hours.
2. Assume full responsibility for the protection and safekeeping of products under the contract, stored at the site.
3. The Contractor will be required to provide photo identification badges of all employees, subcontractors,
manufacturer’s representatives, job site visitors, etc. as a part of this contract. Ensure that all persons entering the
job site wear such badges at all times while they are on the property.
C. WORK SEQUENCE
1. Construct work in stages to accommodate the City’s schedule and operations.
D. THE CITY'S OCCUPANCY
1. The City will occupy the site and existing premises during the entire period of construction, and the facility will
remain open.
