Specification for Solar Powered LED
Flashing Beacon Warning Systems and Related Components
General Overview:
The following are specifications
for pre-assembled solar powered, flashing LED beacon systems.
A. Assembly 1 - sl'iould consist of an 8 foot pole, a control box, a solar panel, all mounting bracket(s) and an
LED light system. Tl'ie intent of this specification is for a complete unit including all elements required
for an operational installation and ready to be installed. The assembly shall be augmented to protect it
from vandalism or tl'ieft.
B. Assembly 2 - shall consist of a unitized control box, solar panel, single 12" RED LED light system with
mounting brackets for attaclu'nent to U-channel pole. The intent is for a complete unit including all
elements required for an operational installation and ready to be installed on existing traffic sign U-
channel pole. The assembly shall be augmented to protect it from vandalism or theft.
All items on the bid must meet The Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) mii'iimum
ITE lumen output.
