ADVERTISEMENT FOR EXECUTIVE ARCHITECT
UCLA requests a written response to this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to select an Executive Architect for the proposed Transit Yard EV Bus Charging station installation (Project #946517.01). This RFQ is to acquire a consultant team consisting of an Architectural firm and their sub-consultants to design an electric charging facility for the UCLA public transit buses in the Transit Yard at 11075 Kinross Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90024.
The Transit Yard uses compressed natural gas (CNG) fuel for all the buses. UCLA is committed to meeting the zero-emissions initiative and will convert all buses to electric¿currently, the transit yard houses 16 buses, which will be converted to electric charging.
Construction cost is estimated to be at $4.65 Million. Precision Contracting Services (PCS) prepared Preliminary Cost Estimates in March 2023 based on a Feasibility Study and plans completed in February 2023. The design shall comply with the University of California Policy on Sustainable Practices.
The selection committee will base their review of the Executive Architect's submitted proposals and selection on the Selection Criteria form (Attachment A). The final selection and appointment of the Executive Architect is contingent upon project approval by the University of California Board of Regents or their delegated authority. This RFQ is for complete design services; however, the University reserves the right to defer negotiations regarding services other than pre-design studies until the completion of the pre-design phase.

http://www.capitalprograms.ucla.edu/Contracts/RFQProjects on Friday, October 13, 2023; responses to the RFQ are due by or before 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2023. Please allow sufficient time for the submittal transmission or transmission delay to ensure that UCLA receives all RFQs by or before 10:00 a.m. (PST) deadline. Any submittals received after 10 a.m. (PST) deadline will not be accepted by UCLA. A screening committee will determine a shortlist of firms; further steps in the selection process will be at the selection committee's discretion.
Every effort will ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within limits imposed by law or University policy. Each Candidate Firm may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy.
