Description:

SCOPE OF WORK
Service Provider shall provide the following services to SJSU.

¿ Provide design and construction services for fire alarm panel replacements in eleven (11) total buildings, including
remote annunciator panels.
¿ Complete a final construction design package for issuance to the Universities 3rd party fire alarm consultant, Office
of Fire life safety (OFS), Office of the State Fire Marshal (OFSM), and the campus deputy building official for a
final construction permits.
¿ The contractor shall provide a dedicated fire watch service during each buildings fire alarm panel replacement.
¿ During removal of old system components, all surfaces will be returned to a matched condition by methods of
patch & paint.
¿ Once each the new fire alarm system has been fully witness tested in the presence of the Construction Inspector,
a final 100% witness test shall take place with the State Fire Marshal present.
The scope of work includes engineering design, replacement and upgrade of existing Siemens MXL panels in four (4)
separate buildings (Phase 2), and Simplex 4002 and 4020 panels in seven (7) separate buildings (Phase 3). The contractor
shall provide a dedicated fire watch service during each buildings fire alarm panel replacement. Each building system will
be 100% witness tested in the presence of the SFM.
Phase 2 includes engineering design, replacement and upgrade of existing Siemens MXL Panels in four separate buildings
at the following locations:

San Jose State University (Main Campus)
¿ Clark Hall, 195 South 7th St. San Jose, CA
¿ Tower Hall/Morris Dailey Auditorium, 210 South 5th St. San Jose, CA

San Jose State University (South Campus)
¿ Simpkins Athletic Building, 1393 South 7th St. San Jose, CA
¿ Simpkins Stadium Center, 1240 South 7th St. San Jose, CA

Phase 3 includes engineering design, replacement and upgrade of existing Simplex 4002 and 4020 panels in seven separate
buildings at the following locations:

San Jose State University (Main Campus)
¿ Business Classroom, 195 South 7th St.
¿ Corporation Yard A, 404 East San Fernando St.
¿ Corporation Yard B, 129 South 10th St.
¿ Dudley Moorehead/IRC Building, 125 South 6th St.
¿ Industrial Studies, 135 South 9th St.
¿ Natural Sciences Building, 190 South 4th St.
¿ Student Service Center, 50 South 9th St.

A mandatory pre-bid walkthrough has been scheduled for February 29, 2024 at 9:00AM. Interested bidders should
assemble at Facilities Corporation Yard, Building A, 404 East San Fernando St., San Jose, CA 95192. It is strongly
recommended that contractors attend this walkthrough, as it may be the only time bidders can walk through the project
area with the Consultant. Contractors shall limit attendance to 1-2 persons per company.
Construction Cost Estimate: $1,790,000.00
License Requirement: B - General Contractor and C-10 licenses
