The primary purpose of this RFP is to establish an annual contract for large and small water meter installation and repairs is to provide the construction services necessary to install and/or relocate large water meters, detector checks and the associated appurtenances necessary to provide customers with new water services. The water meters installed under this contract typically range from 5/8th inches to 12-inches in size, whereas the detector checks are 3 to 12-inches in diameter. The work includes all services associated with installing and/or relocating the water meters and detector checks, including connecting to existing water mains and installing service piping and all related appurtenances (e.g. vaults, valves, etc.) The contract also provides for the installation and adjustment of fire hydrants.
