Description


Purpose of Procurement
Pursuant to the State Purchasing Act (Official Code of Georgia Annotated 50-5-50 et seq.), this electronic Request for Quotes (eRFQ) is being issued to establish a contract with one or more qualified suppliers who will provide Pinestraw and Hardwood Mulch applications.
Pinestraw and Hardwood Mulch applications to the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia by and on behalf of Georgia State University (hereinafter, the State Entity) as further described in this eRFQ.
The Department of Building Services of Georgia State University (GSU) has established requirements for annual pinestraw and hardwood mulching at the GSU Perimeter campuses at the following locations:

Alpharetta-3705 Brookside Pkwy. 30022
Dunwoody-2101 Womack Rd. 30338
Clarkston-555 North Indian Creek 30021 (including location across the street)
Decatur-3251 Panthersville Rd. 30034
Newton County-239 Cedar Lane 30014

Mulching will add aesthetic value as well as conserve water, reduce weeds, moderate soil temperature, increase the organic content of the soil and create a habitat for beneficial organisms. The total area to be covered is approximately 750,000 square feet.
Overview of the eRFQ ProcessThe objective of the eRFQ is to select one or more qualified suppliers to provide the goods and/or services outlined in this eRFQ to the State Entity.  This eRFQ process will be conducted to gather and evaluate responses from supplier for potential award.  All qualified suppliers are invited to participate by submitting responses, as further defined below.  After evaluating all suppliers¿ responses received prior to the closing date of this eRFQ and resolution of any contract exceptions, the preliminary results of the eRFQ process will be publicly announced, including the names of all participating suppliers and the evaluation results.  Subject to the protest process, final contract award(s) will be publicly announced thereafter.

Scope of Work and specifications:
This annual contract will include 2 pine straw/mulch applications per year. The first application of pine straw/hardwood mulch will be completed between July 21
