The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia is soliciting responses from construction management firms interested in providing complete pre-construction, construction management and construction services for The University of Georgia Facilities Management Division, District Energy Plant #2 Annex Expansion, known as: Project No. (CP 2684), ¿District Energy Plant #2 (DEP-2) Annex ¿ Building Expansion¿ Project at the University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia.¿  The University of Georgia, on behalf of the Board of Regents, will be the user of the Project.
Responding firms/teams must be able to demonstrate successful experience in pre-construction, construction, and delivery of steam boiler systems/component replacement projects on active university campus settings of similar scope and complexity, as well as expertise in logistics planning & execution to minimize negative impacts on plant and/or campus operations, and protection of existing campus systems/structures.
Project Description:
This project consists of civil and site improvements, underground utilities, and a 2,800 sq.ft. building expansion to accommodate the future increase of chilled water production capacity to be executed via separate contract(s).  The existing gravel and concrete pavements are being demolished to accommodate the new building footprint along with the necessary water line relocation. Sanitary sewer scope related to new floor drains and underground electrical distribution pathway extensions from existing terminations to new chiller locations are part of this project. Demolition of existing building girts is anticipated for the new building expansion. An insulated metal wall panel façade is anticipated. The new building will consist of wide-flange steel columns and beams on new column vibro-pier foundations. New rooftop cooling tower support structure for future equipment is also part of this project. The Stated Cost Limitation for the project is expected to be approximately $1,750,000.  Subsequent phases that are not included in this project will include the mechanical and electrical buildout of the new space to eventually double current plant capacity from 3,00
