Sealed bids for construction of the Rail Spur Extension Phase 2 Project will be received until November 29th, 2023, 2 PM at the Claxton City Hall Chambers, 206 West Railroad Street, Claxton, GA 30417 at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read. Bids can also be mailed to 302 West Railroad Street, Claxton, GA 30417. Any bid received after said time and date will not be considered by the Owner. No bid may be withdrawn after the closing time for the receipt of bids for a period of sixty (60) days. The work shall consist of furnishing all products and equipment and performing all labor necessary to perform the following:
The project will consist of the construction of 1500 LF of rail, the rerouting of water and gas main along Bill Hodges Road, construction of an access road to the Phase 1 rail extension including, but not limited to, installation of 271 LF of 8¿ water main, 25 LF of 2¿ water line, and 116 LF of natural gas main. The project will further consist of erosion and sediment control, and grassing. Time allotted for completion of work is one hundred eighty (180) calendar days. Bids shall be accompanied by a bid bond or certified cashier¿s check in an amount not less than 10% of the base bid.
