The Town of Amherst, Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids from General Contractors and filed sub bidders for the Jones Library Project in Amherst, MA, in accordance with the documents prepared by Finegold Alexander Architects.
The Project consists of the r
enovation and addition of the historic 1927 Jones Library. The original 1927 building will be renovated, an addition constructed in the 1990s will be removed and a new addition will be constructed for a 63,000 SF facility once completed. The structure is a Cross Laminated Timber hybrid construction utilizing heavy timber structure on the upper floors while maintaining a conventional steel system on the lower level. Included within the project will be other utility and infrastructure modifications, landscaping, hardscaping, parking and pedestrian area improvements.

General bidders must be certified by the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) in the following category of work -- General Building Construction and must submit a current DCAMM Certificate of Eligibility and signed DCAMM Prime Update Statement. General Bids will be received until April 16, 2024 at 1:00pm and publicly opened, forthwith online.
Filed Sub-bids for the following trades (Masonry; Miscellaneous and Ornamental Iron; Waterproofing Damp proofing and Caulking; Roofing and Flashing; Metal Windows; Glass and Glazing; Tile; Acoustical Tile; Resilient Floors; Painting; Elevators; Fire Protection; Plumbing; Heating, Ventilating and Air-Conditioning; and Electrical) will be received until April 2, 2024 at 1:00pm and publicly opened, forthwith online.

Only Bids from Prequalified General and Filed Sub-bidders, with the exception of the Elevator trade, will be accepted. DCAMM Certified Elevator contractors may submit sub-bids.
All Bids shall be submitted electronically online at www.biddocsonline.com and received no later than the date and time specified above.
