The City of Durham, North Carolina, Department of Water Management (DWM) is requesting
Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from consulting firms to provide Professional Engineering
Services for DAM INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE ACTIVITIES.
The DWM anticipates utilizing the selected firm to provide the following monitoring and design
services for five (5) dams:
• Annual Dam Safety Inspections
• Annual Survey of Settlement Monitoring Points
• Quarterly Measurement and Analysis of Existing Instrumentation
• Quarterly Visual Monitoring of Seepage and Concrete Cracking Areas
• Periodic Special Inspections after Significant Weather Events
• Annual Updates to Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) and Operations and Maintenance (O&M)
manuals
• Miscellaneous Dam Related Engineering Services
• As-needed Design and Construction Related Services
Statements of Qualifications delivered no later than 3:00 PM on May 3, 2024 to 1600 Mist Lake
Drive, Durham, NC 27704 will be considered.
Consultants that are interested in submitting a SOQ are strongly encouraged to attend a non-
mandatory VIRTUAL pre-submittal conference on April 19, 2024 at 10:00 AM on the Microsoft
TEAMS platform. An invitation for the pre-submittal conference will be sent to those firms who
request a copy of the Request for Qualifications.
