00100 ADVERTISEMENT FOR
BIDS
Pursuant to NC General Statute 143-129, sealed bids will be received by the Town of Apex for the
furnishing of all materials and construction of the Apex Community Park Street Hockey Rink,
consisting of one contract having the following principal items:
A. CONCRETE
B. ASPHALT
C. EROSION CONTROL & GRADING
D. FENCING
E. LANDSCAPE
F. EARTHWORK
Sealed bids should be submitted by hand, FedEx or UPS to the attention of Angela Reincke, Town
of Apex Community Center, 53 Hunter Street, Apex, NC 27502 and marked “APEX COMMUNITY
PARK STREET HOCKEY”.
If delivering by hand on April 18th, the opening will be held in the Senior Center Conference Room,
63 Hunter Street, Apex NC at 2pm. Bids will be received at Town of Apex Community Center, 53
Hunter Street, Apex, NC until 1pm, April 18th, 2024 and then brought to the Senior Center. Bids
will be received at Town of Apex Senior Center, 63 Hunter Street, Apex, NC until
2pm, APRIL 18, 2024.

A non-mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at the site at 1:30PM on April 3, 2024. Questions
are due in writing to the designer (Jon Blasco PLA, WithersRavenel,
jblasco@withersravenel.com) no later than 5PM on April 11, 2024, and a final addendum will be
posted no later than 5PM on April 12, 2024
The OWNER reserves the right to waive any informality, to reject any and all BIDS, and to award a
contract which, in its judgment, is in the best interest of the Town of Apex.
The BIDDER to whom a contract may be awarded shall fully comply with the requirements of all
North Carolina General Statutes governing the practice of general contracting and the procedures
for letting of public contracts.
Bid Security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the proposed bid amount must accompany
each proposal in order to be considered. The Bid security may be in the form of cash, a certified
check or bank draft payable to the Town of Apex, a Bid Bond executed by the Bidder or an acceptable
Surety Agency consented to conduct business in North Carolina. No Bid may be withdrawn for a
period of sixty (60) days from the date of bid opening except as may be allowed under North Carolina
General Statutes.
Bidder shall identify on the bid the minority businesses that will be utilized on the Project with
corresponding total dollar value of the bid and affidavit listing good faith efforts or an affidavit
indicating work under contract will be self-performed, as required by the Guidelines For
Recruitment And Selection Of Minority Businesses For Participation In Apex Community Park
Street Hockey Rink Construction.
