RFP - DPW Fabric Building Structure

The City of Claremont Department of Public Works (DPW) is seeking proposals for the supply and installation of a fabric structure to be used for storage and shelter purposes. The structure specifications are outlined below.
The objective of this project is to procure and install a durable and reliable fabric structure that meets the specific requirements of the City of Claremont DPW. The structure will provide storage space and shelter for equipment and materials used in DPW operations.
The City of Claremont reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive any informalities or irregularities in the proposals received. Submission of a proposal indicates acceptance by the vendor of the conditions contained in this RFP unless clearly and specifically noted in the proposal submitted and confirmed in the contract between the City of Claremont and the selected vendor.
Sealed proposals must be received no later than Wednesday, March 20, 2024 @ 10:00 AM, by the Office of the City Manager, 58 Opera House

Fabric Structure for City of Claremont DPW
The City of Claremont Department of Public Works (DPW) is seeking proposals
for the supply and installation of a fabric structure to be used for storage and
shelter purposes. The structure specifications are outlined below.
The objective of this project is to procure and install a durable and reliable fabric
structure that meets the specific requirements of the City of Claremont DPW. The
structure will provide storage space and shelter for equipment and materials used
in DPW operations.
Structure Specifications:
The fabric structure shall meet the following specifications:
- Dimensions: 40’ Wide X 60’ Long X 21’ Center Height
- Fabric: 18OZ Translucent white, flame retardant, PVC fabric with polyester
scrim, meeting the State of NH Fire Marshall Code and NFPA 701 standards. Or
metal roofing that meets snow load for Claremont NH.
- Frame Members: 24” heavy wall galvanized tubular steel truss design, with all
weld joints coated with 97% zinc "cold gal" for corrosion protection.
- Truss Spacing: Trusses are to be on 7.5’ centers.
- Fabric Ends: Fabric ends at the base of the shelter with a skirt covering the base
rail.
- Access End Wall: Including 1 each: 12’ wide x 14’ high fabric access panel.
Access panel door to include all winches, trolleys, pulleys, cables.
- Man Door: Provide a outdoor rated man door for convenient access.

- Electric Winch Door: Include an electric winch door with a manual override. In
the case of power failure, a generator or manual rope/cable can be used to open or
close the doors.
- Compliance: The fabric structure must meet local building codes regarding wind
and snow loads and exposure requirements.
- Foundation: Anchors are included for an asphalt foundation.
- Tensioning: Includes 1ea. 18” deep well socket for cover tensioning.
- Securing: Includes 1” flat bar and tech screws/drive pins for securing the skirt
back to the base rail or concrete.
Requirements:
Vendors interested in providing the structure must submit proposals addressing the
following:
- Detailed description of the proposed fabric structure, including compliance with
specifications.
- Information on the quality and durability of materials used.
- Installation plan, including timeline and any special requirements.
- Warranty information.
- Cost breakdown, including supply, delivery, and installation.
- References from previous clients with similar projects.
Evaluation Criteria:
Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Compliance with structure specifications.
- Quality and durability of materials.
- Installation plan and timeline.
- Cost-effectiveness.
- Vendor's reputation and references.

@ 10:00 AM, by the Office of the City Manager, 58 Opera House Square,
Claremont NH 03743. All proposals must be sealed in an envelope clearly marked
“DPW- 2024 Fabric Building”. Bid Proposals will be opened publicly and read
aloud. At this point the bids are public knowledge.
