Summary: ADF&G is requesting bids from qualified bidders for harvesting and purchasing golden king crab from the Eastern Aleutian Islands (Area O east of 174° west longitude) to achieve ADF&G’s revenue goal of $550,000 for the Aleutian Islands crab observer and research programs. Harvesting and purchasing golden king crab from the Western Aleutian Islands (Area O west of 174° west longitude) optional and contingent on participation in the Western Aleutian Islands cooperative industry stock assessment survey. Bids will be taken based on price/pound of live crab to achieve the revenue goal of $550,000. Bid amount is the price bidder will pay ADF&G for the live golden king crab after subtracting the cost of harvesting crab, including providing the fishing vessel, fuel, bait, processing, all personnel, etc.
