  • Summary:Sealed Bids for the construction of the Wastewater Treatment Facility Waterline Extension will be received, by the Town of Christiansburg at the office of the Procurement Officer at 100 East Main Street, Christiansburg, VA 24073, until 3:00pm local time on August 10, 2023, at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read. The Project consists of installation of approximately 1,350 linear feet of 8-inch water main and miscellaneous appurtenances near the Town of Christiansburg Wastewater Treatment Facility. Two wells on the town property will be abandoned as part of this project. An additive alternate consists of the of installation of approximately 1,350 linear feet of PVC conduit and miscellaneous appurtenances installed adjacent to the water main trench. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a unit price basis.
    The Issuing Office for the Bidding Documents is Peed & Bortz, L.L.C., 20 Midway Plaza Drive, Suite 100, Christiansburg, VA 24073, Attn. Scott Bortz, PE (scott@peed-bortz.com), 540-394-3214. Prospective Bidders may examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 9:00 AM-5:00 PM and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office as described below.
    Bidding Documents also may be examined at:
    Christiansburg Town Hall, 100 E Main Street, Christiansburg, VA 24073; Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM
    Copies of the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS may be obtained at the Issuing Office upon nonrefundable payment of $200 for each 22 x 34 set, $100 for each 11 x 17 set, or downloaded free of charge. Email dcole@christiansburg.org

    A pre-bid conference will be held at 3:00 PM local time on July 25, 2023, at the Christiansburg Town Hall, Admin Conference Room, 100 East Main Street, Christiansburg, VA 24073. Attendance at the pre-bid conference is highly encouraged but is not mandatory.
    Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.
    The procedure for withdrawal of bids shall be in accordance with procedure (i) of Section 2.2 - 4330 of the Code of Virginia.
