Notes:
Iowa State University of Science and Technology (ISU) is soliciting pricing from
qualified suppliers to provide one portable, single rail, fully integrated, non-laser
based particle size and velocity analyzer to collect real time particle and droplet
diameter distribution and velocity data for the Agricultural and Biosystems
Engineering department.
Suppliers should read all materials carefully and note the due date.
Suppliers must direct all questions and comments in reference to this RFP/RFQ to
the University Representative using the QUESTIONS tab via this e-procurement
system.

The evaluation criteria utilized for this RFQ may be based upon, but not limited to the following criteria:

ISU reserves the right to waive minor differences in the stated specifications, if an offered system is found to be
substantially compliant, and its’ purchase would be in the University’s best interest.
2 Brand Name or Equivalent
The use of brand name or equal specifications is for the purpose of describing the standard of quality, performance
and characteristics desired and is not intended to limit or restrict competition. Specifications are given as guidelines
only; Alternate equipment(s) may vary slightly from given specifications. Alternate units are expected to be close in
specifications to desired unit.

Particle Size Range: 10μm - 3456μm
Maximum particle velocity: 30m/s (50μm diameter particle)
Image source: Real-time, online, high resolution camera up to 15,000 particles/second
IP67 rated waterproof enclosure
Statistics reported: Mean diameter (by number, area or volume), Sauter mean diameter, volume percentiles
(10%, 50%, 90%), deviation, relative span
Provides close up images of the spray formation and break-up process
Portable single rail unit
Ability to be used outdoors in sunlight
Supplier included laptop computer with pre-installed software and calibration files
