Notes:
Iowa State University of Science and Technology (ISU) is soliciting proposals from
qualified contractors to replace two hoists and two material handling lift platforms on
the north and south scoreboards at Jack Trick Stadium on the ISU campus, Ames,
IA.
There will be a MANDATORY pre-bid meeting, see the Activities Tab. Attendance
at the pre-bid/site visit meeting is mandatory for all Contractors even if the contractor
has been on site previously. Please hold all questions about the bid until the
MANDATORY pre-bid meeting.
Contractors should read all materials carefully and note the due date.
Contractors must submit all questions in the "Questions" tab related to this bid
opportunity.
Bid responses will ONLY be accepted online via ISUBid. Please allow adequate
time to review and submit your response prior to the deadline.
Bid Activities
MANDATORY Pre-bid/Site visit meeting,

There will be a MANDATORY pre-bid/site visit meeting due to the nature of this RFP/RFQ. Hold all questions about
the bid until the pre-bid meeting.
Attendance at the Pre-bid meeting (site visit) is required. Failure to attend or have representation at this meeting will
result in the Contractor being ineligible to participate in the competitive bid process
Pre-bid Meeting location; Jack Trice Stadium, 1732 S. 4th Street Ames, IA 50011. Parking for the pre-bid is available is
available south of the Jack Trice Stadium in lot S1. Go to the doors on south end o the Stadium.
Please email wkfoster@iastate.edu with your intent to attend this pre-bid meeting/site visit.
No verbal statements by ISU or its representatives at this meeting will be binding. ISU will post all changes and
material clarifications in the form of an addenda after the meeting.

2 General Information
Contractor shall replace two hoists (one the south scoreboard and one on the north scoreboard) and will replace 2
material handling lifting platforms (one on the south scoreboard and one on the north scoreboard) in Jack Trice
Stadium located on the ISU Campus in Ames, IA.
ISU will not prepay for work. Contractor will send invoice to ISU upon completion of all work.
Work to be completed between March 1, 2024, and July 1, 2024. Work will not be allowed between May 20-27,
2024 due to an event being held at the location. Awarded Contractor must reach out to Athletics Staff for approval
at least 1 week prior to the Contractor proposed work dates/times.
Work can be completed individually on each scoreboard or both can be completed at the same time.

3 Scope of work/Specifications
Contractor shall provide all materials, equipment, labor, etc. to complete this work.
1. Replace 2 hoists at Jack Trice Stadium- 1 on north scoreboard and 1 on the south scoreboard.
2. Replace the existing hoists with equivalent new model.
3. Replace 2 material handling lifting platforms/boxes and lifting accessories (one on north scoreboard and 1 on
south scoreboard) which are approximately the same dimensions as existing platforms. Platforms must be built in
compliance with ASME B30.20 and BTH-1.
4. Data plates and load testing documents shall be provided to ISU before units are turned over.
5) The hole in the existing structure that the platform passes through needs to have a protected cover (which can
be moved, removed for the platform to pass through) fabricated and installed to allow for proper and inspections by
ISU staff.
6) Structure modifications shall meet local, state, federal regulations.
7) For any structural modifications, the awarded Contractor must provide drawings that have been
reviewed/approved by a professional engineer to ISU to review the proposed modification before the modification is
made.
8) Platform frame dimensions are approximately, 36" O.D. length X 36" O.D. width X 46”. Contractor will be
responsible for actual measurements before work starts.
9) ISU is providing some pictures for reference only. (See Attachments Tab)
10) Awarded contractor shall take care not to damage the ISU property around the work area.
Options:
ISU is requesting a few options which will be priced on the Line Items Tab. ISU reserves the right to award or not
award any options as best suites the needs of the University.
