Description:

Detailed Design and Services during Construction for the East Side Gravity Trunk Sewer in the City of Kitchener.

The project consists of:

  • installation of 3.6km of 975mm diameter gravity sewer using a combination of microtunneling techniques and open cut excavation from the pipeline origin point (north of Freeport Creek) to the proposed Grand River crossing
  • a service bridge of approximately 500m crossing the Grand River and connecting to the Kitchener Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP)
  • a new connection into the Kitchener WWTP’s elevated influent channel

A non-mandatory briefing meeting will be held on April 12, 2023 at 1:00 p.m, local time at Lookout Lane (by the Waterloo Pioneer Memorial Tower parking lot), Kitchener, Ontario. A site tour will be conducted and Regional staff will be available to answer questions and discuss requirements of the project and content of this document. Adequate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required, which must include, at a minimum, hard hat, safety boots, and reflective vest.
